PHOENIX — A teen was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Ahwatukee late Tuesday night.
The shooting happened at an apartment complex near 48th Street and Warner Road around 11:30 p.m., according to early reports.
When officers arrived at the area, they found a teenager with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. That teen is in stable condition, Phoenix police said.
While searching the area, police found a car that crashed into a tree outside the nearby Andy's Frozen Custard that looked like it had been shot. The man inside it, Malachi Henningham, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene, Phoenix police said.
No other information was given. Detectives are still investigating what led to the shooting.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
