IDAHO, USA — Chad Daybell's triple murder case could soon be going to a jury.
The defense rested its case Thursday morning in Idaho, where Daybell has been standing trial for nearly two months.
Daybell is accused of killing his wife Lori Vallow’s two kids, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow, who used to live in the East Valley. He’s also accused of killing his first wife Tammy Daybell.
Chad Daybell's defense attorney, John Prior, started presenting his case on Monday.
He first called two of Chad Daybell's adult children, who appeared to support their father. Prior called 11 witnesses total, including experts he brought on to review case materials.
After the defense rested, prosecutors began calling rebuttal witnesses. Court will be in recess for the holiday weekend. The trial is set to continue Tuesday with more rebuttal witnesses from the state.
Lori Vallow Daybell was convicted in this case last year and sentenced to life in prison in Idaho. She's currently in jail in Arizona where she faces additional conspiracy to commit murder charges.
