PHOENIX — A man has been booked into jail, accused of killing a man in a knife fight on Aug. 19, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The department said the fight happened near 16th Street and Indian School Road at about 8 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Efren Partida dealing with an injury after being stabbed. He was rushed to the hospital and later died.

Investigators later learned that another man, now identified as 36-year-old Christopher Rhodd, had walked to the hospital after being stabbed in the fight.

Rhodd was released from the hospital on Friday and Phoenix police say he was been booked into the Maricopa County Jail and has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police say Partida and Rhodd got into a verbal argument that turned physical near a convenience store. During the fight, both men pulled out knives, which led to the stabbings.

Two other people were detained after the fight. They have not been identified.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
