Central Phoenix shooting wounds 2

What led up to the shooting, including the suspects, is still under investigation, police say.

PHOENIX — Two men were wounded in a shooting in central Phoenix, police said.

Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 1st Avenue and McKinley Street in regards to a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, two men were found with gunshot wounds. The two men were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the two men were engaged in a verbal argument with multiple other people prior to the shooting. The suspect or suspects left the scene prior to police arrival and what led up to the shooting is still being investigated.

The identities of the victims have not been released.
