COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. — Cochise County deputies took a Benson man in custody who, in addition to having several outstanding warrants, could be an investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate.
The county sheriff's office announced that they were looking for 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syrvud on Thursday. According to CCSO, they were made aware that Syvrud allegedly made threatening statements toward former President Donald Trump via social media.
Further investigation into Syrvud revealed he has an outstanding warrant for a DUI and failure to appear in court in Wisconsin, and warrants from Graham County for a hit and run and failure to register as a sex offender.
Syrvud was found Thursday afternoon in Cochise County.
