The shooting happened on the night of March 19, in the area of 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Police arrived at the scene after reports of a shooting in the area. Schottenbauer was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, and died on April 1, according to police.

Police said Robledo was the only person involved in the shooting.

He is facing charges of murder and prohibited possession.

Editor's Note: Phoenix police disclosed the victim's age as 39 but the medical examiner lists the victim's age as 18. An earlier version of this story listed the age provided by police.
