Armed robber steals cookies from Phoenix store

Police say he hopped the counter, stole cash along with some cookies from the restaurant’s tray.

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are asking for help in finding the suspect who stole cash, and bizarrely cookies, in a pair of robberies last month.

Investigators say the masked man entered a 7-Eleven on Glendale Ave at night, pulled out a gun and demanded cash. The clerk refused and locked the register at which point the suspect punched the clerk and ran.

The suspect apparently entered a nearby Subway restaurant and again threatened a clerk with a gun. Police say he hopped the counter, stole cash along with some cookies from the restaurant’s tray before fleeing.

Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-9 man, about 160 pounds, has a tattoo on his right forearm and was driving a tan Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab truck.

Anyone with tips that may lead to his arrest should contact police at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377).
