Arizona man convicted of stabbing grandmother 50 times for 'no reason'

The 35-year-old man pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of his grandmother. He initially told police he felt "nothing" during the fatal attack.

APACHE COUNTY, Ariz. — An Arizona man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after admitting to stabbing his grandmother 50 times.

Jedidiah Michael Noble, 35, of Ganado was sentenced this week after he pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of his relative, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of Arizona.

The defendant fatally stabbed his grandmother in January 2021 at a home on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona.

According to charging documents filed at the time of Noble's arrest, the defendant told investigators he had "snapped" and attacked his grandmother for "no reason."

Noble further told law enforcement he allegedly felt "nothing" during the violent stabbing and had "no remorse."

A family member who witnessed the stabbing told investigators they heard the grandmother cry out "help me" before they called 911, court records show. The victim sustained numerous puncture wounds all over her body.
