Alabama man allegedly admitted to stabbing, killing woman in Kingman, police say

The man and woman who was stabbed and killed were from Alabama, according to the Kingman Police Department.

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A man from Alabama was arrested in Kingman, Arizona, after allegedly stabbing and killing a woman, who was also from Alabama, according to the Kingman Police Department. 

Officers responded to the scene near Stockton Hill Road and Gordon Drive around 4 a.m. Friday morning for reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, 59-year-old Anthony James Goodin of Alabama was holding a large knife and standing near a box truck, Kingman police said.

Police got Goodin to drop the knife but he was struck with a Taser after not obeying commands, and was taken into custody, police said. 

Life-saving measures were given to the victim but she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, police said. The woman has been identified as 53-year-old Linda Joyce Goodin of Alabama. 

"(Anthony) Goodin admitted to stabbing the victim multiple times and was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on one count of 1st Degree Murder," a statement from Kingman police said. 

Kingman police are still investigating the crime.
