43-year-old dead after shot near Family Dollar in North Phoenix

The man was fatally shot Sunday at about 10:15 p.m. near the Family Dollar on 29th Avenue and Cactus Road.

PHOENIX — A 43-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday night near the Family Dollar store located at 29th Avenue and Cactus Road.

Phoenix police found the wounded man near the business at about 10:15 p.m. and pronounced him deceased at the scene. He's been identified as Chris Paul Gonzales.

Homicide detectives are still in the process of determining the circumstances leading up to Sunday's shooting.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
