4 teens arrested for death of University of Arizona student

The 20-year-old college student was shot to death at an off-campus party in Tucson.

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Police Department announced Tuesday that officers have arrested four teenagers who were allegedly involved in a shooting that killed a University of Arizona student.

Erin Jones, 20, was fatally shot at an off-campus party on April 28. Three others were wounded in the shooting.

Within the last week, Tucson police have arrested three 17-year-olds and 18-year-old Estevan Garcia for allegedly being involved in the deadly shooting.

Police believe the four suspects drove to the party location on 5th Street to find and shoot another group of people who were not related to University of Arizona students attending the party.

One of the weapons used in the shooting was recovered by police on May 8 as investigators were working to identify the suspects. Nearly 200 interviews were conducted by police throughout the investigation.

The suspects are now facing charges of murder and drive-by shooting.

Police said there are still outstanding subjects related to the incident and the investigation continues.
