Yuma County Sheriff's Office looking for suspect in woman's homicide

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman as Georgina Montoya, 35, of Somerton, Arizona.

YUMA, Ariz. — A homicide investigation is underway in Yuma County after a woman's body was found Monday morning, according to authorities

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman as Georgina Montoya, 35, of Somerton, Arizona.

Montoya's body was found in Yuma at 11:42 a.m. in the area of Avenue 1E and County 18th Street. 

The sheriff's office did not say how Montoya was killed but did confirm she is the victim of a homicide.

Anyone with information about the case should contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.

The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
