PHOENIX - Police say two suspects who pushed an employee out of the way after robbing a Phoenix clothing store are wanted.
According to detectives, they elevated the seriousness of the crime by using physical force against the victim to facilitate their escape.
The aggravated robbery was caught on camera in broad daylight at the Pants Shack near 36th Avenue and Van Buren Street on Sept. 16th.
“These two suspects are in the store and one of them is just loading up on clothing and they wait for the right opportunity when an employee is not in front of the door,” said Sergeant Jamie Rothschild of Silent Witness.
He says they take the clothes and go to leave, but the situation escalates.
“There is an employee tries to intervene and they end up pushing that employee out of the way.”
Luckily, she wasn’t seriously hurt, but Sergeant Rothschild says that’s when these two suspects elevated the seriousness of the crime.
“They used force to facilitate their escape,” he said.
In the video, you can see the moment they got outside, they took off running with arm loads of clothes.
“It’s possible that somebody saw them get into their vehicle or recognizes them or maybe was asked to buy those clothes, because they’re probably not just for personal use,” said Rothschild.
He’s hoping someone who saw something will have information that helps lead detectives to the suspects.
“That must have stood out to somebody,” he said.
Police describe one suspect as a Hispanic man, 5'8" tall, weighing 250 pounds and wearing a black polo shirt, tan shorts, black shoes and a red Cardinals baseball hat. The other suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5'8" tall, 160 pounds, and wearing a dark gray shirt, black pants, white shoes, a white belt and a black hat.
The suspects were seen driving away in a red Chevy Silverado.
