Police identify man killed in double shooting in west Phoenix on Friday

The shooting happened on Friday night at a home near 86th and Minnezona avenues and killed 25-year-old Andrue Encizo.

PHOENIX — Police have now identified the man who died after a double shooting in west Phoenix on Friday night.

Officers were called to a home near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road around 7 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting. Officers learned when they arrived that a person who had been shot was taken to a nearby hospital by family members.

The man, now identified as 25-year-old Andrue Encizo, was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

Another man with a gunshot wound was found at the scene, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening injury and is expected to recover.

Police said in a press release that multiple people were detained after the shooting and taken to police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives.

The initial investigation shows that an argument took place in a group that knows each other. That argument led to shots being fired and the two men being shot.

Everyone who was detained has been released and no one has yet been charged in the shooting.

This investigation is still open and police say charges could still be filed.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
