PHOENIX — Two people were shot in west Phoenix Friday night. One of the victims later died, according to Phoenix police.
Officers were called to a neighborhood near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road around 7 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting. Officers learned when they arrived that a person who had been shot was taken to a nearby hospital by family members.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

Another man with at least one gunshot wound was found at the scene, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital but is expected to recover.
Officers were seen at the home with guns drawn and a drone looking into a car.
"The area is shut down as this is a larger scene," Phoenix police said in a statement. "Detectives have responded to assume the investigation."
The identities of the men or information on a suspect were not given.
Officials expect to release more information on Saturday.
