PHOENIX — Do you recognize this silver Mitsubishi Montero?
Phoenix police have released a picture of a car that hit and seriously hurt an 11-year-old girl in south Phoenix on Friday, in the hopes that someone recognizes it and can identify the driver.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon near 19th Street and Roeser Road. Detectives say the girl was crossing the street in a marked school crosswalk when she was hit by the driver, who was headed west on Roeser Road. She was taken to the hospital and has serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives learned the vehicle that the girl was a silver 2001 Mitsubishi Montero with black roof racks and a black front push bumper.
If you recognize the car or know who may be driving it, you are asked to call Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS or (480) TESTIGO to give a tip in Spanish. Tips can also be reported online at Silentwitness.org.
