CHANDLER, Ariz. — It's more than a before and after school enrichment program.
Kids Express, through Chandler Unified School District Community Education Department, is a place where kids can dive into science, art, music, crafts, dramatic play, games, group projects and clubs.
12News was on-site for the program's second round of recent hiring events for today's Community Connection. There we met Digital Marketing Coordinator Rachel Lythgoe.
“We’re interviewing for positions right now, we encourage applicants to go to cusd80.com/apply to find more details about opportunities,” she explained.
While at CTA Independence Kids Express, one of 26 locations, 12News was able to get a first-hand look at all the activities offered within the program.
"We have some locations that bus kids to campuses that offer the program, this one in Chandler oversees 180 students,” she added.
Long-time employee Ariel Delgado loves her job at Kids Express.
“I’ve been here 11 years and love it. I moved up and believe anyone who’s creative would really enjoy this job,” she told 12News.
One of the participants Henry helped explain what he loves most about the after-school program.
"I just love all the activities and watching movies, plus it's fun to play outside with all my friends."
Staff on-site 12News spoke with said working with kids not only keeps you young but helps you to learn something new every day.
