PHOENIX — A longtime Arizona Diamondbacks fan has been reunited with her custom jersey after losing it at Chase Field in October.
Diamondbacks fandom runs in Crys Melton's family. Her mom was as diehard as it gets. The two of them would attend several games together every season as a family.
Her mom even bought her a custom D-backs jersey that says "Doula Crys" on the back, a nod to her daughter's profession. She would wear a matching jersey that said "Mama Fox."
Crys' mom has since passed away, but Crys would continue to wear that jersey to games in her honor.
But at the home game on Oct. 1, Crys lost it. She said she remembered bringing the jersey into the stadium and having it in her bag. It likely fell out.
Crys turned to social media, imploring the public for help. The team evened offered tickets to anyone who found it.
And on Nov. 1, one month after losing it and on the same day that the team would play their final game, Crys was reunited with her beloved jersey.
12News caught up with Crys to find out how it happened.

The reunion story
Crys began frantically searching for the jersey after she lost it, but what she didn't know was that her very own "angel in the outfield" was hard at work at the same time.
“A lady who works in the right field garage, which is on 7th Street and Jefferson, she just saw it. Her daughter actually found it. It was hanging on a cement post, which is kind of weird. Somebody, I guess, had already dropped it," Crys said.
The family who found it had a feeling it was important so they held onto it.
“That was on Oct. 1. And then a couple of weeks went by. And she went to go do something with one of her jerseys and saw it and was like, 'Oh, I really, you know, I need to try to get this back to this person,'" Crys said.
The person who found it shared it in a group message and others started sending her the link to Crys' social media posts and news articles published about the missing jersey. She sent Crys a message on Facebook but Crys didn't see it. She decided to turn it in to the Diamondbacks team store.
On Nov. 1, Crys finally saw the message and immediately contacted the team representative she works with on her season ticket package.
“I could not move my hands fast enough. I picked up my phone, I was texting my rep, Cole, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh. This lady said that she found my jersey and that she turned it in. Can you go check?' And he immediately had already done so and told me that it was turned in, it was my jersey and that he was holding on to it," Crys said.
Before the final game of the unforgettable season, Crys was reunited with her jersey.
“I couldn't let go of it," Crys said. “I couldn't quit smiling. Like, I just I'm so glad that is back.”
At Chase Field, the place she feels most connected to her mom, she can't help but wonder how her jersey got hung up on that post in the first place, but she has a feeling she knows who's responsible.
“I think my mom probably saw that it fell and she picked it up and was like putting it on a hanger," Crys said.
Before Crys got her original jersey back, Derrick Hall, the D-backs President and CEO, presented her with a new one that she plans to wear to games in the future. Her custom jersey from her mom is officially retired and will be hung up at home.
The woman who found her jersey asked to remain anonymous, but Crys was able to meet her and thank her in person.
