Car crashes through concrete barricade in fatal San Tan Valley wreck

Deputies with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office responded to a call that a vehicle had crashed through a concrete barricade just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near Skyline Drive and Gary Road.

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. - Deputies with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office responded to a call that a vehicle had crashed through a concrete barricade just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near Skyline Drive and Gary Road.

Authorities said the car caught on fire. The driver was dead when deputies arrived.

No other injuries were reported the victim has not been identified.

Investigators believe the wreck was a suicide. The 19-year-old woman who died had made suicidal threats, PCSO says. She had been reported by her parents as missing and suicidal the night before.

Investigators found no skid marks or evidence of braking.

Some residential street closures were in effect for the duration of the investigation.
