An Idaho man was shocked to find a full-size elk in his living room.
The elk made its way into the homeowner's basement after falling into a window well on Wednesday night.
Matthew Siegel tried for hours to coax the elk out of his house, but finally called police who drove the animal from the basement by creating a makeshift elk-run with furniture.
"It took us about 2.5 hours, but we got her out uninjured," said Alex Head, Fish and Game senior conservation officer. "The basement will need a good, deep cleaning, but we are glad it worked out as well as it did."
Heavy snows are driving elk and other wildlife from the mountains and into Idaho's Wood River Valley.
