Fender breaks ground on new facility at former Paradise Valley Mall

The guitar manufacturer is building a 77,000-square-foot facility at the site of the old Paradise Valley Mall.

PHOENIX — Fender Musical Instruments has broken ground on a new 77,000-square-foot facility that will serve as the company's new co-headquarters at the former Paradise Valley Mall property.

The guitar manufacturer plans to have the three-story building open and running by the fall of 2025. It will include a model shop for Fender's guitar and amplifier designers, a sound room, a café, meeting rooms and workspaces.

"This is a pretty big deal for us," said CEO Andy Mooney, noting the growth spurt Fender has experienced over the last decade and the need for a new campus.

The company held a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday with local elected officials at the project site.

Fender's new facility is part of a full-scale redevelopment project of where the Paradise Valley Mall operated for decades near Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard before the retail mall closed in 2021.

Now referred to as "PV," the redeveloped property is expected to be the site of retail, restaurants and residential units.
