PHOENIX — From eating all of the fried food you can stomach to riding rides and seeing concerts, the Arizona State Fair has tons of great experiences for all ages. But the cost can keep families from fully enjoying their fair experience.
There's no shortage of things to spend your money on at the fair. There's tons of delicious food, rides and tickets, which can all add up pretty quickly. But if you're looking to enjoy fair fun without breaking the bank, you can. Here are some ways to help you be financially savvy at the fair:
- Check out the $3 Taste of the Fair: On Fridays, you can enjoy $3 food items at every stand from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The only day the deal is not active is opening day. Check out the "Taste of Fair" map here.
- Donate 10 canned food items for free admission: On Fridays, you can bring in 10 non-perishable food items for one free admission to the fair.
- Animals galore: Walking through the animal exhibits or taking a gander at the Youth Livestock Show is free with admission. The Native American Rodeo is also free with the price of admission and takes place on Oct. 4 and 5.
- Read and Ride: The state fair is offering free ride passes for kids who participate in their Read and Ride program. Little ones ages 5-14 pick one to three books, read them, fill out the Official Read and Ride Report Form, have a parent or guardian sign it, and then redeem the fair for up to three free ride passes.
