Molly Ringwald is an '80s icon. She starred in many of the movie classics that still resonate with the "coming of age" genre.
"The Breakfast Club" taught us that our peers can teach us a lot about ourselves. "Sixteen Candles" carried the lesson that your self-worth is defined by you alone and Ringwald is the red-headed awkward teen that starred in the films many of us call on when we're feeling nostalgic.
Ringwald is now in her 40s and a mother of three. She says she's learned a lot about being a mother from her life as a story teller.
Nowadays, she says it's especially difficult to be a teen. Her oldest daughter is 11, and Ringwald says she uses inspiration from the characters in her films and the guidance of her own mom to help lead the way in her own journey as a mother.
