Raising Cane's, Rob Schneider donate 100 bikes to Boys and Girls Club of the Valley

The Boys and Girls Club said the donations make a big difference as many members struggle to find transportation.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Actor Rob Schneider and Raising Cane's teamed up on Monday to spread holiday cheer to kids in need.

The fast-food restaurant donated 100 bikes to the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley.

Schneider, who is from Arizona, was in Glendale to host the event at the organization’s Louis & Elizabeth Sands Branch.

The Boys and Girls Club said the donations make a big difference as many members struggle to find transportation.

"The donation of the bikes means that more kids and teens will be able to participate in our programs and sports,” said Martha Delgado, director of the organization's Valley branch.

Schneider said he knows the bikes will be put to good use.

"Part of that success is making sure that children have a rounded, well-developed education including healthy ways that they can exercise and enjoy themselves. and what better way than a bike, especially when it's not 110 degrees outside," said Schneider.

Raising Cane's donated 1,000 bikes in New York City earlier this month, and will be making donations similar to the one in Valley in other cities including Dallas and Baton Rouge.

It's something the company has been doing for the past five years. The company's owner was inspired to do so by fond memories and a passion to give back to the community.

"Raising Cane’s owner Todd Graves had the idea to donate bikes to youth organizations in hopes of creating special holiday memories for those who need them most," the company said in a news release.
