Last-minute Halloween costumes

Whether you are headed to party or watching horror flicks at home, here are 5 costumes you can DIY last minute to make this Halloween spooktacular.

PHOENIX — Halloween is just around the corner and if Google is any indication, people are still looking for Halloween costumes. Whether you are headed to a party or planning on watching Hocus Pocus on repeat, a great costume is essential for a spooktacular night.

From couples costumes to do-it-yourself last minute ideas, 12News has you covered. Here are some costume ideas to make this Halloween your best one yet.

Barbie

The Greta Gerwig film took movie theaters by storm, so it’s no surprise that the movie made people’s lists for Halloween costumes. Whether you decide to go for the classic Barbie pink or go for Kate McKinnon’s Weird Barbie look, the options are endless and could even include items in your closet.

Kim Possible

The 2000s show is making a comeback for Halloween 2023. According to Google Trends, Kim Possible - American animated series was one idea people were searching for when it came to Halloween costumes.

Looking to recreate the iconic look? Green cargo pants and a black top are the must-haves for a DIY costume and those looking to go the extra mile could find a red wig to top off the ensemble.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcie

For all of the couples out there, take your pick of Taylor’s outfits from her Eras Tour and grab a Chief’s jersey to be the internet’s most popular couple. There are quite a few iconic combos to choose from, but if you are looking for a laugh, check out one person’s take on the trend.

Oppenheimer

Another box office hit, Oppenheimer, provides Halloween revelers with another DIY friendly option. Hat, pipe, blazer and an intense stare – you’ve just recreated the man who created the atomic bomb himself. While not trending on Google Trends, this costume is reminiscent of the “Barbenheimer” takeover of the summer, a fun combo of the two films.

Wednesday Addams

Ah, the Addams Family – the original Halloween spooktacular. Netflix debuted the series “Wednesday” after Halloween last year, so Halloween 2023 is the time to bring Wednesday’s iconic braids and black dresses back into the spotlight. The last-minute friendly costume idea is great as a second costume, too, since it only has a few elements.

Want to crank it up a notch? Try to snag one of Wednesday’s props from the show, like the bag of piranhas she releases into the pool.
