Cirque du Soliel brings first holiday show back to Phoenix

Guests will be treated to thrilling acrobatics, lovable characters, plus a soundtrack including holiday classics re-invented by Cirque du Soleil.

PHOENIX — A classic poem was the inspiration for Cirque du Soliel's first holiday show.

'Twas the Night Before is based on "A Visit from Saint Nicholas" by Clement Clarke Moore. This is the second year the show has come to Phoenix.

"We love Arizona and the theater as well. This space allows us to continue to be creative and bring the holiday essence to the crowd," Production Coordinator Yagub Allahverdiyev said.

Plenty of memorable lines from this classic story inspired the performers. The production showcases a jaded young girl who rediscovers the magic of the holidays.

“Isabella is distracted by social media and modern times and then suddenly the magic sparks,” Allahverdiyev said.

The show encompasses cheer and love and features 26 artists from all over the world and is great for family fun this season. Guests will be treated to thrilling acrobatics, lovable characters, plus a soundtrack including holiday classics re-invented by Cirque du Soleil.

“We invite anyone to come and enjoy the joyful show, every time you see the show you will be smiling!” Allahverdiyev said.

The show is directed by Cirque du Soleil Senior Artistic Director James Hadley, a 25-year veteran of circus productions and live theater.
