PHOENIX — A month after a Liberty High School student hit an incredible half-court shot at the buzzer, shocking the school, he received a surprise of his own.
Tonatiuh Ramirez, who goes by T, was invited to meet his hero. He received the news in front of his classmates this week and the touching moment was captured on camera.

“You and your family are gonna get to go to the game but you’re gonna get to arrive early because there’s somebody that wants to meet you there. Do you know who that is? His name’s Steph Curry," a Liberty staffer said.
On Tuesday night, when the Golden State Warriors were in town to take on the Phoenix Suns, and Ramirez got the opportunity to meet Steph Curry, his favorite player.
“I think Steph wants to know if you can help him out with his jump shot because you’re a pretty good shooter," the school employee said.
It's Ramirez's own jump shot that landed him the meeting.

Last month, during an intramural basketball game at Liberty combining students with disabilities and general education students, Ramirez hit a shot nobody there will ever forget.
He sank a half-court basket at the buzzer in front of a packed house. Students stormed the court in celebration.
“I always believe in myself. Always," Ramirez said.
“He told me mom I want to do it. I have to do it. And he did it!” said Rocio Ramirez, T's mom. "He wants to be a professional basketball player.”
Now, after Ramirez inspired his Peoria school community, they are returning the favor.
