Beloved ice cream parlor Salt & Straw to open first Arizona location

The beloved ice cream store has amassed a cult following since it debuted as a food cart in Portland, Oregon.

GILBERT, Ariz. — Arizona is getting a sweet new way to beat the heat. Salt & Straw, the beloved Portland ice cream store, is coming to the Valley.

A new Salt & Straw location will round out the lineup of storefronts at the Epicenter Agritopia in Gilbert this summer. The cult-favorite confectionery had a humble start as a food cart in Portland, Oregon. Since then, it's boomed into a flavor sensation with locations in California, Florida, Nevada and Washington.

They'll be serving up some of their beloved flavors like Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons; Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough; Pear and Blue Cheese; and Fran's Chocolate Almond Gold Bar.

Don't go blaming us if you suddenly have a sweet tooth. The new location is expected to be open by Summer 2024.
