PHOENIX — A family-run restaurant in central Phoenix was recognized this week as one of the highest-rated and best-reviewed businesses on Yelp.
Zuki’s Pita, located on 19th Avenue south of Camelback Road, serves gyros, shish kabob, shawarma and beyond, according to its website.
"This Made us very happy and we felt the need to share our feeling after receiving this," Zuki's said in a Facebook post about the news.
Zuki's opened in late 2019, not long before the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The start was not easy but we have always wanted to provide quality experience to our customers, from using quality ingredients to having consistent quality foods to welcoming customer service," Zuki's said. "We are loved by a lot of regulars and we love seeing familiar faces and also we love to see new customers too."
Communications manager with Yelp, Hannah Kronke, confirmed the recognition calling "The People Love Us on Yelp" award "a special honor we share with top local businesses."
Yelp identifies businesses based on a number of factors including their ratings and reviews, Kronke said.
"Zuki's Pita in Phoenix is among the businesses recognized in 2023 for being among the highest-rated and most positively reviewed businesses on Yelp," she said. "Zuki’s is rated five stars and has more than 250 reviews on Yelp."
Zuki's thanked customers who visit regularly and have tagged or recommended the restaurant to others.
"Thank you for introducing us to your friends," Zuki's said. "We won’t be here without you all’s support!"
