PHOENIX — O.H.S.O.'s new North Central location in Sunnyslope is finally open after a long-awaited renovation of the 100-year-old building that previously housed the Spoke and Wheel.
The brewery and Little O's Market sits along the Arizona Canal Trail bike path on Central Avenue south of Dunlap Avenue.
"O.H.S.O. is very excited to be a part of the Sunnyslope neighborhood and to bring back life to this (old) building," general manager Vinny Francini told 12News back in October.
O.H.S.O., which stands for Outrageous Homebrewer’s Social Outpost, made headlines last year when the company took over Helton Brewing, buying everything; the equipment, the recipes and the building. O.H.S.O. has expanded to seven locations with a distillery and two more locations on the way, including the Sunnyslope spot.
Humble beginnings
The brewery had humble beginnings: According to its website, the owners wanted to create a place where guests could come in and brew with their skilled brewers.
"In every O.H.S.O. location, you’ll encounter bike-themed decorations, photos of our guests’ cute dogs on our walls, and representations of our vibrant brewery culture." the website reads. "However, like our kids or dogs, every O.H.S.O. is unique – embodying its distinct character while still being fun, happy, and full of delightful surprises. Each location evolves organically, influenced by the community it serves."
Little O's Market at the new Sunnyslope location offers breakfast, donuts and coffee in the morning, according to its website, and a grab-and-go section for food, gifts and beer or wine to take home.
The new brewery serves brunch, lunch and dinner, so you can expect the true O.H.S.O experience.
