Japanese restaurant chain wants to open several locations around Phoenix

Pepper Lunch already has over 500 locations all over the world. Now it's planning to roll out a major expansion into the Valley in the coming years.

PHOENIX — Pepper Lunch, a popular restaurant chain originating out of Japan, is planning to roll out a major expansion into the Valley.

The company announced this week it wants to bring its unique brand of teppanyaki-style dishes to Phoenix within the next five years. The B.I.D. Investment Group has been brought on by Pepper Lunch to develop 10 units throughout the Valley.

“There is simply nothing like this in Phoenix, and we know that residents are always looking for new, fun, and exciting dining experiences," said Jake Ireland, managing partner of B.I.D. Investment Group. "The area is also one of the fastest growing metros in the USA, driving the need for more dining options.”

Pepper Lunch's menu has dishes featuring beef simmering in sukiyaki sauce, grilled salmon topped with a savory teriyaki sauce, and chunks of chicken placed around a stack of flavored rice and corn.

Pepper Lunch was established in Japan nearly 30 years ago and the company now has over 500 locations in 15 countries. The first Valley location is projected to open by the third quarter of 2024.
