ELOY, Ariz. — Arizona Public Service workers and the Eloy Fire Department rescued an adventurous cat who climbed a forty-foot electrical pole in Eloy early Wednesday.

Around 7 a.m., Sweet Pea, a spirited orange tabby cat, climbed the pole near Tumbleweed and Tonto roads and could not get down.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Sweet Pea's owners contacted APS customer service, initiating a chain of events that would lead to her safe return. The Eloy Fire Department was called in to assist in the rescue.

Upon arrival, the team realized the need to de-energize the power line, given the proximity of live electrical elements to the pole.

Sweet Pea was patient during the process and was retrieved by workers using a bucket truck. She was reunited with her worried owners and managed not to use any of her nine lives in her latest adventure.
