SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A boa constrictor recently went on a little joy ride across the Valley by slithering inside a pickup truck.
The Scottsdale Fire Department said one of its units was recently dispatched to help a motorist who noticed an unexpected passenger sticking its head out from underneath their truck.

The driver had traveled from Mesa to Scottsdale before noticing the reptile hiding out in the truck's undercarriage. Firefighters managed to safely remove the snake and placed it in the custody of the Arizona Herpetological Society.
The fire department thinks the snake is most likely a pet that managed to slither away from its home in the East Valley area.
According to the Herpetological Society, boas make for popular pets because of their mild temper and reluctance to bite. This type of snake is most often found throughout Colombia and adjacent countries.
