PHOENIX — At just one year old, Sasha the dog has seen a lot.
The puppy, most likely a lab mix, was sold into the meat market in China, according to the international dog rescue that saved her, The Big 3 Rescue. The Big 3 Rescue is a non-profit that focuses on rescuing dogs from the Asian dog meat trade and high kill shelters, according to the website.
After months of waiting, Sasha finally made her way to the U.S. this month.
Against all odds, Sasha the dog was adopted in the Valley after being in foster care for less than a week.
But the night Sasha was dropped off at her new home, she escaped the backyard. Now The Big 3 Rescue and the Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team of Arizona are asking for your help.
Sasha is about 35 pounds and escaped from a backyard near Thomas Road and 44th Street at 9 p.m. March 8.
"Sasha is so loved and we just want to bring her back to safety," The Big 3 Rescue wrote in an email to 12News.
If you see or have any information about Sasha, call (404) 952-9511 or email Info@thebig3rescue.org.
