MESA, Ariz. — Droog, an eight-month-old chocolate Labrador puppy from Mesa who had been missing since May 3, is now back home.
Mesa Police Department confirmed a police report was filed after the puppy slipped through an unsecured gate on May 3 in the afternoon. Droog has valley fever and was left outside for a brief time, but slipped through a gate left open, his owners told 12News.
He traveled a short distance before he was spotted near a car wash and the couple shared a video of the pup being lured into a car, presumably by people trying to help.
Droog's owners told 12News he was with an "amazing" family who took great care of him.
