MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — One very happy feline found his "furever" home after being part of a Maricopa County animal care and rehabilitation program.
Meet Dale, the first pet adopted through Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Animal Safe Haven program in 2024.
Dale the cat was first seized as "evidence," just like other animals being cared for in the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Animal Safe Haven program. A special unit called MASH provides care, feeding and shelter for "evidence" animals like Dale: animals that have been seized during MCSO investigations of abuse or neglect.
The animals are rehabilitated by inmates, which allows both the neglected animals to be cared for and those caring for them to learn work and life skills, according to the unit's website.
To learn more about MASH or to find out how you can adopt your own furry best friend, visit the MCSO MASH Unit Facebook page.
