SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — A hiker is recovering after being attacked by a fox near Sierra Vista.
According to Arizona Game and Fish in Tucson, the hiker was attacked by the possibly rabid fox on Saturday at the Brown Canyon Trail.

The fox reportedly bit the hiker's leg but didn't break the skin. During the incident, the hiker fought back, causing the animal to quickly retreat.
Wildlife officials said foxes, bats and skunks are the most common rabies carriers.
If you suspect rabies in wildlife in your area, call 623-236-7201, avoid contact with the animal and clear the area.
