MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — A bobcat with rabies was recently captured near Kingman, according to officials in Mohave County.
The Mohave County Public Health Department said Friday a bobcat with a confirmed case of rabies was tested in the Aquarius Mountain area east of Kingman.
Arizona Game and Fish officials are handling the animal and county health workers are reaching out to humans who may have been exposed to the bobcat.
County officials said human exposure to rabies is rare but anyone who has been bitten by a wild animal should seek immediate medical attention.
To report an animal bite or a possible case of rabies, residents can call Game and Fish at 928-692-7700 or the 24-hour hotline at 800-352-0700.
