ARIZONA, USA — A young black bear has been taken to the Bearizona wildlife park in Williams after being rescued over the weekend outside of Tucson.
Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) said the bear is eating well but is thin at only 15 pounds.
AZGFD posted about the bear's rescue on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
AZGFD said wildlife officers found the bear in the Oro Valley area near Oracle Road and east Catalina Shadows Boulevard on Sunday.
The 1-year-old male bear had been first spotted in the area Saturday night.
Wildlife officers searched for the bear's mother but she could not be located.
Officials said it's unknown how the bear became separated from it mother.
