PHOENIX — Over the next couple of months, the Bureau of Land Management will host three wild horse and burro adoption events for qualified individuals.

The animals have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, de-wormed, and have a negative Coggins test.

If you want to acquire an untrained wild horse or burro, you must be at least 18 years old, have a BLM-approved trailer for the animal(s) from the event site, and have approved facilities to house the animal(s). Applicants are encouraged to visit Online Corral to apply before the event.

The BLM says wild horses are known for their strength, intelligence, and endurance and can be trained for many uses with patience. The overall goal is to find them good homes.

The adoption events will be at the Florence Off-Range Facility in Florence on Oct. 25, Nov. 8, and Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For more information on adoption qualifications, call 866-4MUSTANGS (866-468-7826) or visit the Florence Off-Range Facility website.
