A nice, big juicy burger is a staple of American food culture.
At most restaurants around the U.S. you could probably find one (or 10) on the menu. But if someone is looking for the best of the best, where could they go to get one of the top burgers in the country?
Phoenix, apparently.
According to Thrillist, The Stand in Phoenix is one of the best burger joints in the country. It made the website's list of the 31 best in America.
The list's author, Matt Lynch, writes the "beloved" burger stop became a "instant hit" when it opened a few years ago.
The Stand is located in Phoenix at 3538 E Indian School Road.
"The original is all about the burger, ground daily-in house and topped with lettuce and tomato, kosher dills, and Stand Sauce -- similar to your typical catch-all burger sauce, but a fine rendition of it," Lynch writes.
Lynch said it would be a "wise move" to pair it with The Stand's "salted dulce de leche shake and a mound of hand-cut fries."
And as my taste buds can attest, the burger is delicious. So Thrillist may just be right.
