Brave enough to try? World's tallest floating water slide opens at Lake Pleasant

Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Afraid of heights? Well, even looking at this massive slide will give you the chills.

The tallest floating water slide in the world is now at Pleasant Harbor Marina in Lake Pleasant.

"I was like, there's not going to be a record for the world's tallest floating water slide, and sure enough, there is," said Gary Schmit owner of H2-Whoa.

Guinness World Records recently awarded the enormous water slide with the designation.

"This type of slide exists on land, which is actually derived from a freestyle ski jump," said Gary.

There are three side levels for riders.

“We call them mild, hot and spicy,” said Gary.

The tallest slide soars people about 15-20 feet into the air.

Gary says he wanted to bring this experience to Phoenix, but decided to make the slide’s home base on Lake Pleasant.

"It's pretty much, as far as the metropolitan area, the busiest recreational lake in town," said Gary. "I'm born and raised here, grew up on this lake, so I am super comfortable with it."

At first glance, the slide looks way more extreme, but Gary reassures that it's a "bucket list" thing to do.

The only way to get a good idea of the experience is to try it out yourself.

Gary says the water slide has been under development for just over a year.

For safety, participants have to go head first.

"Safety is definitely at the forefront of this, every movement on this platform has been carefully calculated and is heavily monitored," said Gary.

If you dare to take the risk, Gary says they will be charging $25 an hour to go on the water slide.

There's a 40-inch height requirement to get on the slide and he doesn't see any problems regarding weight or size.
