Arizona native, world-famous medium Allison DuBois hosting special event in Scottsdale

Allison DuBois is known as being the inspiration behind the 2005 hit show "Medium."

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Fifth generation Arizonan and world-famous medium Allison DuBois is hosting a Mother’s/Father’s Day event at the McCormick Scottsdale on Saturday.

“It’s very emotional, especially if I am bringing through the children,” she said.

She hosts one or two events every year where she talks about life after death and how she communicates with those who have passed.

"There is always an order to it that the other side sets up in advance so that it’s the way it’s supposed to be,” DuBois said. “Bringing through children and loss of child is obviously the most painful loss a person can suffer. I enjoy bringing the husbands through for wives. They flirt with their wives still and so do the wives with the husbands.”

DuBois is most known as the inspiration behind NBC’s 2005 hit show "Medium."

Played by Patricia Arquette, her character helps detectives solve murders using her abilities to speak with the dead.

The mother of three has created a successful career.

She has five best-selling books and is working on her sixth. She is also in talks about landing a reality show.

Her army of dedicated fans find comfort with and fascination in what she does.

“The ones that have the most energy,” she said, “meaning they projected the most energy in life, they have the most energy in death. They can visually appear. They can project. People that have weaker energy come through in easier ways like whispering it in my ear.”

She said when you die you revert to the age and image when you were happiest and you’re most likely to talk to someone who has passed when you’re asleep.

“When you’re distracted they cannot come through to you so it’s why when people sleep they tend to have more interactions because their mind is shut down so then the other side can access it," she said. "But if you’ve loss someone you miss, they’re waiting for you to tell them what you need from them so when you go to bed ask them for a visit.”

As you can imagine, she has her fair share of skeptics and critics to which she says, “I always just said to them, when you die, you’ll know. I don’t need to convince you and you don’t have to believe and that’s alright. We’re all walking our own path.”

VIP tickets for her two hour seminar have sold out. There is still general admission tickets available for $95.

The event is from 2-4 p.m.
