Everything old is new again, especially with television and movies these days.
Word is the popular 80s and 90s television series "Saved by the Bell" is coming back with new episodes, and some of the original actors are slated to return, according to The Wrap.
NBCUniversal’s new streaming service "Peacock" will offer the new take on “Saved By the Bell” with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley. Two of the show's original producers are returning as well.
NBC released this description of the series:
"When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality."
What's not clear is if any of the other original actors will make an appearance. That includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played Zack Morris.
It's also hard to imagine any kind of "Saved by the Bell" offering without the nerdy character Screech. But the actor who played him, Dustin Diamond, has been in legal trouble in the last few years.
