The 2023 Phoenix Pride Festival and Parade are expected to bring big crowds to the area this weekend.

PHOENIX — Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Steele Indian School Park on Oct. 21 and 22 as Phoenix PRIDE festivities are set to celebrate love, acceptance and diversity.

From musical performances to colorful floats, there will be something for everyone during the two-day event. Here's what to expect:

Paulina Rubio will headline the festival on Saturday night while Grammy award winner Ashanti will take the main stage on Sunday night. Both are set to perform at 8 p.m. on their respective nights.

RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars Naysha Lopez and Jessica Wild are taking on hosting duties and will also perform in a VIP only experience.

Colorful floats, dazzling dancers and the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The Phoenix Pride Parade will feature over 2,000 participants marching down 3rd Street with a message of unity and love. Grab your spot on the route early as more than 15,000 people are expected to line the streets to watch the parade.

The parade route will end at the Pride Festival, so be sure to grab tickets to maximize the fun.

Jeremy Helfgot with Phoenix Pride previously told 12News this momentous event, four decades in the making, is thanks in part to major sponsors like Amazon, better known as "Glamazon" for the weekend.

Helfgot said this event is more than just a parade.

"It's not just about the celebration, but about creating a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and letting the community at large know that this community isn't going anywhere and deserves the same dignity as everyone else," he said.
