FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Ski season is upon us! The Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff is preparing for its scheduled opening for the season on Nov. 17 at 9 a.m.
Each year, Arizona Snowbowl is open from November until April to ski enthusiasts. The resort offers a variety of experiences for skiers to enjoy.
Does Flagstaff have snow?
One very important part of ski season is snowfall. There has yet to be any snowfall in Flagstaff this season but Snowbowl officials hope to make enough snow for the opening.
"Everyone on the mountain is giving it their all to have you all up to the mountain this Friday! Keep hoping for colder weather!" a post from Snowbowl said on X.

Making fake snow
Snowbowl officials said snowmakers have been making snow on several trails including Upper Ridge, Midway Catwalk, Log Jam, Wild Turkey, Round Up, and some of the beginner terrain.
"Thanks to the dropping temperatures & low humidity, the mountain is looking more ready for the season each and every day!" Arizona Snowbowl posted on social media on Nov. 1.
The Snowbowl offers 55 trails, 2,300 lift-served vertical feet and over 3,000 hike-to vertical feet on 777 acres with eight lifts, four terrain parks and three mountain lodges. For more information about lessons, passes, and prices for the resort click here for the website.
