Troy Lynch - Reporter

Troy is a proud Sun Devil,  graduating from the Walter Cronkite School in 2018. He interned for the 12 News sports department for two years. In college, Troy won a national BEA award for his story 'Turning Tragedy to Triumph' and was ranked as a top 12 college sportscaster by the STAA his last two years and served as the ASU men’s/women’s basketball and baseball in-game host.

Troy's career started in Grand Junction, Colorado as the KREX 5 sports director and was named ‘Best Small Market Sportscaster’. Besides covering Colorado professional sports, Troy’s time on the Western Slope was highlighted when he went viral when kids attacked him at a baseball game resulting in Troy being interviewed on the Kelly Clarkson show.

After nearly two years, Troy moved to the south as a sports anchor/reporter for KLRT Fox 16 in Little Rock, Arkansas where he covered two Elite 8 appearances and Arkansas in the Outback Bowl. Troy was nominated for two Emmys and transitioned to a news morning and weekend anchor.

Then New England came calling and Troy spent two years at WMUR in New Hampshire as a weekend evening anchor/reporter. His coverage spanned from covering the First in the Nation Presidential Primary, the Lewiston, Maine mass shooting, the Boston Marathon, and the Celtics 2023-24 championship.

Troy grew up as a beach bum in Orange County, California, but couldn’t be more excited to back in the Valley to work for Team 12.

Troy married his wife Jenna in March 2024 and they have a dog, Annie. When Troy isn't working, he's probably working out, exploring the outdoors, playing the piano, or watching movies.
