Chase Golightly is a reporter and multi-skilled journalist for 12News, contributing across all shows and platforms. Chase joined Team 12 in August, 2022. Before joining 12News, Chase reported at KOB4,the NBC affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his tenure in Albuquerque, Chase reported on a fatal middle school shooting where a student brought a gun to school and killed another student. He also covered the shooting of four police officers in the line of duty, the ‘Rust’ movie shooting involving Alec Baldwin, numerous wildfires, and the story of a well-known state representative accused of embezzling more than a million dollars from the state’s largest school district.
Chase previously worked as a reporter and weekend anchor at KRDO, the ABC station in in Colorado Springs. While in Colorado Springs, Chase’s reporting was recognized with ‘Best Breaking News Coverage Under Deadline’ from the Colorado Broadcasters Association for the Fort Carson Fire. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his reporting during a massive hailstorm. Chase’s coverage of an 89-year-old woman found dead outside a nursing home further led to a state investigation that ultimately shut down the facility. He started his career in Yuma as an anchor, MMJ and weatherman, interned at KTAR News, and reported and anchored for Cronkite News. Chase graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with his bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism. An Arizona native, he was born and raised in Mesa and graduated from Mountain View High School. In his spare time, Chase enjoys movies, playing guitar, hiking, checking out breweries, and spending time with his wife.
