ASH FORK, Ariz. — Winter storm conditions in Arizona had everything backed up on Interstate 40 near Ash Fork for hours overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
After another closure near Seligman due to a crash on Sunday morning, the Arizona Department of Transportation tweeted on Sunday afternoon that traffic on I-40 eastbound appeared to be moving after more delays.
Some highways around the state were closed last night due to the extreme storm conditions including I-40.
I-40 eastbound was closed at State Route 89 around midnight and long delays occurred with some saying they were stranded on I-40 overnight.
Crashes on I-40 were forcing more hours-long closures as ADOT crews worked to clear the roads.
Into 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, conditions and closures remained the same before the roads began opening and moving before 9 a.m.
More crashes would close I-40 again between Ash Fork and Seligman.
