PHOENIX — A collision involving multiple vehicles caused one car to roll over off of the Interstate 10 freeway, Phoenix Fire Department officials said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene near the North 40th Street exit off of the I-10 westbound lanes when they saw that one of the vehicles involved in the crash had gone through one of the freeway's barriers and ejected two of its riders.
The two people, a 30-year-old man and woman, were treated and transported to a local hospital in critical condition, firefighters said. Another person involved in the collision was evaluated and refused transport.
The department said that the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Police Department will be investigating the cause of the accident.
