PHOENIX — A man in a mobility scooter died Wednesday after a car collided with him while he crossed a central Phoenix street.
The crash happened near 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
Officers said the 47-year-old man was crossing 7th Street when a Chevrolet Impala that was heading north careened into him.
The victim, identified as James Gray, was rushed to a hospital where he died.
The driver of the Impala stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police don’t believe DUI was a factor in the crash as of now.
